We’re Not Just Idle Players
Really, I think more games should cross-over from the gaming world into reality. I mean, they want to sell their total immersion, right? And while plenty of people have no problem with buying escapism, I get bored with a game that gives me no skills or real world value. So you earned a set of purple armor. Are you going to open your mailbox one day and find a helm? I don’t think so.
I’ll play WoW again when they mail me a zhevra mount.

*falls down laughing*
this particular page is great – but your comments are what make it, today. i mean, i would have *loved* the comic without, but you saying that…! it’s a point. i *deserve* a pet turtle. and armor that actually covers my body.
most gamers really want to, on some level, “save the world”. or take it over. something. we don’t want the dirt and the hurt and PROBLEMS, but we want the good bits.
(hell, i’m so disabled that i can barely *play* D&D. and i’m 32. but i still hope that someday, i’m the right person in the right place with the right skills to take care of something and save the world. just so i can go to my parents and say “Look. i saved the world. so stop yelling at me about how you found a half a peanutbutter-and-honey sandwich under my bed when i moved out 14 years ago.)
beautiful.
